EMS Memory error

I have the following error reported by EMS daiy. All experts please advice me the fix.

Event Monitor notification information:

Notification Time: Sun Feb 17 20:33:46 2008

hrmdev sent Event Monitor notification information:

/system/events/memory_ia64/memory is >= 1.
Its current value is MAJORWARNING(3).

Event data from monitor:

Event Time..........: Sun Feb 17 20:33:46 2008
Severity............: MAJORWARNING
Monitor.............: memory_ia64
Event #.............: 3100
System..............: hrmdev.it.hughessupply.com

Summary:
Memory Event Type : Single bit error (SBE) event. A correctable single
bit error has been detected and logged.

Description of Error:

The memory component: DIMM 0B

is experiencing correctable single bit errors at the same address on the
same component. Since the page has not been deallocated and is still
active, this indicates the address is located in kernel or reserved memory.

Probable Cause / Recommended Action:

Although the single bit errors are being corrected, it may be advisable to
evaluate whether the system should be rebooted. Rebooting the system may
allow the memory page to be deallocated so it is no longer referenced. If
an excessive rate of single bit errors occur, an event with higher severity
will be generated.

Additional Event Data:
System IP Address...: 11.224.21.75
Event Id............: 0x47b8e07a00000000
Monitor Version.....: B.01.00
Event Class.........: Memory
Client Configuration File...........:
/var/stm/config/tools/monitor/default_memory_ia64.clcfg
Client Configuration File Version...: A.01.00
Qualification criteria met.
Number of events..: 65
Received within...: 1 day(s)
Associated OS error log entry id(s):
None
Additional System Data:
System Model Number.............: ia64 hp server rx2600
EMS Version.....................: A.04.10
STM Version.....................: C.46.00
OS Version......................: B.11.23
Latest information on this event:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/content/hardware/ems/memory_ia64.htm#3100

v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v D E T A I L S v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v

Component Data:
DIMM Location...........: DIMM 0B
Serial Number...........: 97b20e45
The fix is adviced right in the notification:

"Although the single bit errors are being corrected, it may be advisable to evaluate whether the system should be rebooted. Rebooting the system may allow the memory page to be deallocated so it is no longer referenced."

Try rebooting.

Pete

If you reboot and the error still persists, I strongly suspect you may have a faulty DIMM

In that event, a hardware call would be in order to replace the module

The last reboot was on 7th feb, the error message is from 17th feb.

So try to reboot and look if the error repeats.
