Boot error during booting from DVD ROM

Hi.,,

I am trying to install hp ux 11i through dvd rom,but i am facing one error ,i am not able to install the operating system,please help me ...top most urgent...ERROR IS BELOW....

HERE P1 IS BOOTABLE DVD DRIVE..

Doesn't look like a bootable DVD to me.

What showed up when you ran:

sea ipl

from the BCH prompt?

Hai.,

i given search command in menu to identify
bootable device
it shows as follows

p0 as random access device
p1 as sequentila acces device

so i selected p1 as bootable dvd rom to install os
i gave command boot p1 and i press enter

it shows attached error

please give me the solution..

Did you run "sea" only or "sea ipl"?

What CD/DVD is it (read the label)?

well in this case p1 is definately *not* a DVD drive - a sequential access device is a tape drive. A DVD will show up as a random access device, so possibly your DVD is p0.

BTW, sequential access devices are TAPES, disks and CD/DVD drives are random access devices!

Hi Logesh,

Try to boot with any other set of dvd's, if you have !

then also it is not working means your dvdrom is faulty.

1. Check your hardware path, as the device you're booting from doesn't look like it's your DVD.

2. If it is your DVD, then the drive appears to be bad, or the disk that's in it is either defective or upside down.. whatever as the disk can't be read....

3. Clean the DVD disk with some water and dry it off and try it again.... You may have a bunch of fingerprint smears or other other contaminants on it...
