Log in to the SPP console workstation. If the V-class console is not available automatically, use the "sppconsole" command to access it.

If you need to reset the V-class server, use the "do_reset" command on the SPP console workstation.

Then read Chapter 4 of the V-class server Operator's Guide:
http://docs.hp.com/en/A3725-96005/ch04.html

After the self-tests are complete (it may take quite a while!), the server may display this message: "Processor is starting the autoboot process. To discontinue, press any key within 10 seconds." Pressing any key at this point will stop the autoboot attempt and let you into the boot prompt.

If the autoboot is disabled, the server will automatically go to the boot prompt.

Although the boot prompt of the V-class server is based on OBP rather than PDC, it has a "HP-style compatibility layer": you can use the SEArch and BOot commands just like in other HP PA-RISC servers.

Note that the appropriate boot LIF filename for installation (or Ignite) is *not* WINSTALL (as with ordinary 64-bit PA-RISC hardware) but VINSTALL (specific to the V-class). If your Ignite tape is created for the V-class, this should be handled automatically though.

You might want to review other V-class documentation available from docs.hp.com:
http://docs.hp.com/en/hw.html#V-Class%20Server

MK
