Vg creation

Hello,

I am having the hp-ux server ia64 hp server rx4640 with os 11.23

I want to create a mount point by creating 0ne vg.

I am having the lun ID's but dont know how to see the LUNID's in vpath. so that I can able to add these disks to create the vg.

step by step solution will be appreciable.

LVM or VXVM?
What type of disk array? EMC, clarion, XP, ...

ioscan -fnCdisk to get disk name(SYMMETRIX|DGC|DISK-SUBSYSTEM|OPEN-E*5) etc
use diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c4t1d0 to get disk size

pvcreate /dev/rdsk/c4t1d0

mkdir /dev/vgnew
mknod /dev/vgnew/group c 64 0x020000

vgcreate vgnew /dev/dsk/c4t1d0
man vgcreate
lvcreate -L 512 -n lvolname vgnew
man lvcreate
newfs -F vxfs /dev/vgnew/rlvolname
man newfs

use manpage to see various options.

# insf â e
# ioscan -funC disk
# pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c??t??d?
# mkdir /dev/vgtest
# mknod /dev/vgtest/group c 64 0x020000
# vgcreate /dev/vgtest /dev/dsk/c??t??d?
# lvcreate â L 4096 -n lvoltest /dev/vgtest
# newfs /dev/vgtest/rlvoltest
# mkdir /FISH_d03
# mount -F vxfs /dev/vgtest/lvoltest /FISH_d03

use respective man pages if you want change parameters or stripe
