So does that mean DRD will not work also because the OS we're cloning from is a May 2005 release ?

HI guys,

I have a new server(RX6600) coming in. This server will be used for testing purposes. We want to clone the same environment of one of our existing servers, so I want to install OS by restoring from a make_tape_recovery of OTHER server (different model, but same OS HPUX 11v2).

Is this possible? If yes, how?
I've tried to restore but ended up with errors and unable to continue.

If you r having two identical setup's (Ex two RX6600 servers)then only Ignite the os.
because there will be any hardware changes in the servers , it may crash.Rx6600 server supports SAS drives.but our old systems does'nt support SAS drives.
Hi DCTW,

Mr. SUDHAKARA is right, U can only make tape recovery run same model server not other model.

When U take make tape backup that time make tape collect Ur system OS image copy (VG00). I mean its a cooling.

Thanksâ Yaqub
I am a Customer Advocate!!!

Will certainly look into DRD.

Just some background information, we're trying to clone the environment from a RX7620 running cellboard with hpux 11v2 (May 2005) to a RX6600.

So far we tried to restore from a make_tape but failed.

Does RX6600 support 11v2 earlier releases like May 2005?

Shalom,

Recovery of other servers?
rx3600 probably no problem at all, transferring images both ways.

There is no way this will work with an PA-RISC based servers, you will need a PA-RISC OS image to work with that server line.

IT would be helpful to know which server line we are talking about.

SEP
