    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;How do you confirm failed&lt;BR /&gt;disk?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check any stale PE in pvdisplay -v&lt;BR /&gt;Check disk in ioscan&lt;BR /&gt;Check syslog for any errors&lt;BR /&gt;Check event logs for disk failure alert&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;How u restore back?&lt;BR /&gt;Check this document: &lt;A href="http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-1236/When_Good_Disks_Go_Bad.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-1236/When_Good_Disks_Go_Bad.pdf&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;Are the server need to shutdown ?&lt;BR /&gt;Depends on server. If disk is hot swappable then you need not to reboot.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-=ShRi=-&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Dear vindothkumar&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;see when_good_disk go bad pdf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;in that pdf it is mentioned one by one&lt;BR /&gt;how to identify failed disk and how to remove it how to back up it in simple way manner.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;someboey posted already that one so i don't want to post it again. which one is a very good reference.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sajjad &lt;BR /&gt;</description>
