Hi,

I am trying to recover one system. I have one tape and I have boot from it.
But when I am putting the filesystem size of /var and /usr it saids me:

│ │ ││
│ │ │ The following errors occurred while trying to apply the current file │ ││
│ │ │ system layout to the available physical disk space. One possible │ ││
│ │ │ reason for the errors is that you have selected a root disk which is │ ││
│ │ │ too small in size. │ ││
│ │ │ │ ││
│ │ │ ERROR: There is not enough disk space to allocate for volume: "/usr" │ ││
│ │ │ (short by 292Mb). │ ││
│ │ │ │ ││
│ │ │ ERROR: There is not enough disk space to allocate for volume: "/var" │ ││
│ │ │ (short by 900Mb). │ ││
│ │ │

Then I increase the /var and /usr
/vat to 3200 and then it saids me:

"ERROR: There is not enough disk space to allocate for volume: "/var" │ ││
│ │ │ (short by 3200Mb). "

The /usr to 1492 and it saids me:

ERROR: There is not enough disk space to allocate for volume: "/usr" │ ││
│ │ │ (short by 584Mb).

Its possible the tape its no ok?
Thanks a lot of,
Carmen.

It means that the sum of your filesystem sizes is larger than the physical size of your disk(s). The filesystems wont *fit* to your system disk(s).

If you want to use the filesystem sizes you've specified, you must either
a) remove the old system disk(s) and install bigger disks, or
b) use more than 1 disk for vg00 (or more than 2, if you are going to mirror the disks)

MK

Dear Carmen

it is very clear there is no enough space to restore. u should add new disks in u volume group(vg00)

thanks and regards

sajjad
Hi

Use higher capacity disk as a root disk.

Best Regards,
Ramesh
