net ads join error

Hi,

I am configuring samba on HP-UX 11.23 ia64
This is a newly built server.

I am getting below error while trying to add to ADS, I have n other servers added to ADS, there is no krb5.conf file configured in any of them and i don't think it required,

Here is the error,

kerberos_kinit_password ADMIN@DOMAIN.COM failed: Can't open/find Kerberos configuration file
[2008/05/19 19:35:42, 0] utils/net_ads.c:ads_startup(191)
ads_connect: Can't open/find Kerberos configuration file

what could be the issue?

Shalom,

It can't find the krb5.conf configuration file, normally located in /etc

Is Kerberos installed, and is the configuration file correct?

Also, what command was used to join the domain.

/opt/samba/bin/net join -w NDR-IL -S ildc1 -U sprotter

NDR-IL is the name of the domain
sprotter is a windows user empowered on the primary domain controller to join machines to the domain.

It would be helpful to see your smb.conf file and your krb5.conf file
