Performance Tuning

Dear All,

I have heard the concept of performance tuning on Oracle 9i or Oracle 10g installed on a Unix System.
But I want to know whether there is performance tuning concept on the OS level in HPUX.
And if it is there, what different methods are available. If possible send me some docs also.

Just tell me one more thing, that except kernel tuning, is there any other method to perform performance tuning.

Just tell me one more thing, that except kernel tuning, is there any other method to perform performance tuning. If possible please send some more docs related to the subject and applicable to higher versions of HPUX like 11.23 and above as in this document 11.00 is given.
