    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Whenever i am creating  any new directory  (Mount point) i.e&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; (1)#mkdir  /oracle/PRD/sapdata5_new &lt;BR /&gt;and  on long listing&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(2) #cd /oracle/PRd&lt;BR /&gt;   # ls -l&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;it show byte size 96, that is&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;drwxr-xr-x  37 oraprd     dba           96 Feb 13 11:14 sapdata5_new&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(3)How i can create same dir with 8192 byte size, so that SAP (oracle )application will  support  it ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;subodh&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>subodh I don't think you create a mount point with a specific block size that is done at the file system level. do a man on newfs or newfs_vxfs and that should give you and idea</description>

      <description>&amp;gt;(3)How i can create same dir with 8192 byte size, so that SAP (oracle) application will support it?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;No application has any business caring about the directory size.  The 92 bytes you see is how much space is allocated in the "empty" directory sapdata5_new.  As you fill it up, it will grow and grow.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
