    <description>applmgr:hostname:::/usr/bin/ftp 24.106.161.51&lt;BR /&gt;Connected to 24.106.161.51.&lt;BR /&gt;220 Microsoft FTP Service&lt;BR /&gt;331 Password required for alcoaebs.&lt;BR /&gt;230 User alcoaebs logged in.&lt;BR /&gt;Remote system type is Windows_NT.&lt;BR /&gt;ftp&amp;gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i am observing as soon as i enter "ftp 24.106.161.51" the ftp session is on get to the prompt as shown below. ASFIK,there isn't any configuration from UNIX side we did to make that happen. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;any suggetion how else that can happen? Any thing from windows side? &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Source server is HP-UX 11.23</description>

      <description>password auth is a method of the "server"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;with that said there are a couple choices.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1)  script the entry of username and pass in your unix script.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2)  get a more robust FTP server/service that would allow auth keys, like SSHD.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3)  negate the need for FTP and share the drive from the Windows server to the UNIX server using Samba&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;4)  maybe implement LDAP for authentication ( lot of work just to FTP some files)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
