Hi,

It would be nice, but you it simply cannot
be done. This is a well documented question.
You must either attach a local tape drive
or set up a remote ignite boot server.

HTH
-Michael

Hi,

Have a look at the linked document, where
there is information on how to create
ignite images. This includes CD's which
maybe of interest.

http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90704/B2355-90704.html

HTH
-Michael

Peter,

Take a look at this document, maybe it will give you some ideas:

http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/docs/Customized_Install_Media_Paper.pdf

Another way, would be to create the tape on the system that you did the make_recovery on. Then, using "dd" and remsh, push the data over to the other systems tape drive. On both systems you will have to use the no-rewind device. Remeber that a make_recovery tape contains 3 file sets.
