So the problem is with CDROM.
It is not necessary that ibolt errors occurs with harddisk only

dev: bc004000

here first two character of "bc004000" (here bc) decide the device.
Hi sanjeev,

The problem is with DVD-ROM not with CD-ROM.

>>>>>>>> dev: bc004000

here first two character of "bc004000" (here bc) decide the device.

I did not understand the above line mentioned by you.
hi,

I take it that its an internal dvdrom to the server, not an external one?

what server is it? and how is it attached? any thing else on the same bus?

it could just be down to bad termination on the scsi bus. If it shares the same bus as an external scsi connector on the server, check if there is a terminator installed. It should have one.

It could be a bad internal cable, as these have an inbuilt terminator in them.

Also is there a cd/dvd in the drive and mounted?

you can also test the drive in STM, but I bet its a bad terminator

Andy
