      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There is no soft and hard limits in HP-UX.&lt;BR /&gt;There are simply kernel tunable parameters.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;a) To check nproc:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# kctune -v nproc&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;b) To check nfile:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# kctune -v nfile &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Note the spelling: "nfile" not "nofile" as&lt;BR /&gt;you wrote, possibly by mistake.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;However, there is a ulimit value called&lt;BR /&gt;"nofiles" (number of file descriptors):&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# ulimit -a | grep nofiles&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;or, simpler:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# ulimit -n&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To set them, as a simple exercise to learn,&lt;BR /&gt;please refer to manuals on commands&lt;BR /&gt;kctune(1m) and Ksh ulimit.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;VK2COT</description>
