printer offline

hello all,

I have hp-ux 11.11 production server and need your help for printer issue.

l06que printer request are showing waiting in sap, i done following steps

(1) i check the status by

#lpstat -p

(2) # disable printer
#enable printer

(3) but

#lpstat -p printer name

it showing

printer queue for l06que
Printer status : Idle.(Ready.)
Online/Offline : Offline.
Printer is not ready.

no entries.

how to make it online. or

how to solve this issue.

is this a remote printer (i.e. not jetdirect?)

if so...check the print spooler on the server that controls the printing. somebody needs to check the front panel on the printer as well....

do clean up: cancel -e 106que, then enable 106que.

Hello all,

As printer status was offline due to which request was busy but after restarting the
printer i enabled and it worked.

offline always comes from the printer itself. Need physical intervention to make it online. Incase of a remote printer where the spooler service is not available the status return would be a "queue down"
