It sounds as if the fibre card is causing you some grief. The HORCM failing to start is problematic.

I would try several things:

1) Remove the fibre card and the new NIC and see if the system boots.

2) Reinstall the fibre card in its original location and see if the system boots.

If this is successful then you could try reinstalling the new NIC, but leave your fibre card in its original location if at all possible.

It is possible that the HORCM software got confused by you moving the fibre card, which changed its HW address.

It's me moving things around causes the issue.

>>>>> Reason is, I had to install a new quad-port NIC and had to move the Fibre card and put the new NIC in its place.

------------------------

It is possible that the HORCM software got confused by you moving the fibre card, which changed its HW address.
---------------------------

>>>> Are you saying that the HORCM agent is causing the system to reboot?

Just going by the information you have provided, yes it appears to me that the HORCM failing to start is causing the reboot.

The fact that it works with the fibre card in the original location seems to be a good indicator.

What I would now do:

Either research or open a call with HP and try to see if there is any HORCM reconfiguration you need to do when moving a fibre card to a different slot.

I don't use HORCM so I can't tell you if there is or not.

Another test may be to disable the startup of the HORCM agent in /etc/rc.config.d, shut down the server, install the fibre card and the new NIC installed, then restart the server. See if it will boot without the HORCM agent starting. If it does, and you feel brave, you could then try starting HORCM manually and see what happens.

HORCM daemon causing this - was right on the money. I stopped it and it now boots.
Be aware that HORCM is the RAID manager for XP arrays - just in case you need it and now have problems with this...
