backup failed

hi,

I got the error from one of my HP-UX server.

Error: Volume Group Backup Failed

How to check the backup failed on which. Iam using this command to check the disk status."ioscan -fnC disk" in this all disks are claimed state. So all are good.

What are the next step to findout. and how can i confirm backup failed.

how did you got this error..? Email alert

what backup software are you using ,is it HP data-proctector..?

yes. It was email alert.

We are using fbackup.

Hi ,

see below as per example , if you have point the fackup to update the fbackup log files you check from the log file,

* * * * * /usr/sbin/fbackup -options > /path/to/logfile

login as root
crontab -l --> look for the fbackup cron -job
take look into logs files
