    <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check your /etc/securetty file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;it should contain list tty's that root can log in. Make sure the word -&amp;gt; console is there.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PS : really appreciate if u could assign some points if this answer ur question.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Rgds</description>

      <description>Hi Frens,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have a problem to login locally on the server!&lt;BR /&gt;But using same password for root i m able to login remotely . i really wondering how it ia like???!!!!!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can anybody help me out for these!!!!!!!1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance&lt;BR /&gt;Shiv</description>

      <description>&amp;gt;&amp;gt;I have a problem to login locally on the server!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What kind of problem?  What happens when you try to login via the console?  What messages are displayed?  Are there any errors?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Are there any "special" characters in your password?  If so, one of those could be a problem.</description>

      <description>OK, can you change it back and try again. Or change it to something different again?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have seen a faulty key on a console cause this problem.</description>
