Problem while login

When I am trying to login to an HP 11.11 server using my login id , I am not able to login ,i am getting the following error in syslog.log :

Dec 18 09:43:04 nelson sshd[10200]: SSH: Server;Ltype: Version;Remote: 10.4.113.97-3153;Protocol: 2.0;Client: PuTTY_Release_0.60
Dec 18 09:43:34 nelson sshd[10200]: pam_authenticate: error Authentication failed

Please help me out on this

If u are able to login through telnet then Issue is with SSH...

and u need to configure SSH

Also check If in sshd_config, is PAM set to yes??

If u r unable to login through telnet as well check if the account is locked...

Telnet is disabled on this server .Can it be there anything with LDAP configuration as it is LDAP server .

Check if u r able to connect to LDAP server

also check if the user is Active in LDAP server

Check pam.conf

Attached is mypam.conf fine which works... MAy be u can check and compare

Yes, I changed the an entry in pam.conf taking another server as reference and it worked. thanks !!
