    <description>hi &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ya u can config the system crash dumps using the crashconf command to add/delete new dump device or can also edit the file /sbin/init.d/crashconf so as to configure teh crash at system boot&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;CRASHCONF=1&lt;BR /&gt;CRASHCONF=0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1 to configure the crash at the system boot &lt;BR /&gt;0 not  to configure the crash at the system boot. Also u can tell which Crash pages and Crash devices to include here in thsi file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;u can also edit the file /etc/rc.config.d/savecrash &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;to define whether u want to save the crash or not , to which directory (/var/adm/crash) is the default&lt;BR /&gt;SAVECRASH=1 --- if u want to save the crash &lt;BR /&gt;SAVECRASH=0 if u do not want ot save the crash&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;compress the crash or to tell some other location to keep the crash file etc.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;yes this is possiblr to do that in Single user mode.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;Sujit</description>

      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Looks like the dump disk is dead or offline.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any system like this should be able to get past this step in seconds.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You have a bad disk, look at the system for warning lights. Call hardware service if you have that contracted.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If most of the services are taking time to start, this would be probably be the issue with name resolution&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;Check for /etc/hosts&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hostname_IP hostname&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt; Also check if /etc/nsswitch.conf exist&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt; If not, simply copy it&lt;BR /&gt;# cp /etc/nsswitch.files /etc/nsswitch.conf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If it exists, then edit /etc/nsswitch.conf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hosts : files dns nis&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;dns, nis required in case dns/nis required&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;With regards to crash dump, it unusual why it take times there&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check the dump LV if it is configured on &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -v&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;$$$ Check the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log and # dmesg for any disk or lbolt error&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
