OpenSSH Installation Error -- Zlib missing

While compiling OpenSSH 4.3 p2 on HP-UX 11.11 following error occured.

configure: error: *** zlib missing - please install first or check config.log ***

I have Ansi C installed.
swlist -l product | grep -i ansi
C-ANSI-C B.11.11.12 HP C/ANSI C Compiler
PHSS_36086 1.0 ANSI C compiler B.11.11.16 cumulative patch

I have attached the detail log. How can the problem be resolved.

Get and install zlib from here - http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Misc/zlib-1.2.3/

configure: error: *** zlib too old - check config.log ***
Your reported zlib version has known security problems. It's possible your
vendor has fixed these problems without changing the version number. If you
are sure this is the case, you can disable the check by running
"./configure --without-zlib-version-check".
If you are in doubt, upgrade zlib to version 1.2.3 or greater.

Just use configure script as mentioned:

"./configure --without-zlib-version-check".

are you sure you need to go thru this exercise?

Has the "RSA SecurID" product said they *can't* use the version that HP currently provides???

Indeed, why all this trouble ? Just grab the HP-UX OpenSSH bundle and swinstall - see link from OldSchool. It works out of the box, and it is supported by HP. What more do you want ?

Jeff recommends to install non-pthreaded version of OPenssh .. Do u have any idea where can I get this non pthreaded version .

Is the ssh link provided by you is a non pthreaded version of ssh.
