The right way to have an flexible, modifyable setup for sendmail hpux is via m4 macro.

You have to edit the macro file yourself or:

/usr/newconfig/etc/mail/cf/cf/gen_cf

This will let you partially automate part of the process.

The following link is to an hpux script that builds the m4 macros into a a database and puts the sendmail.cf file into production:

Its really just sendmail with some slightly different filenames and locations: http://www.sendmail.org
