Hi Chris:

You could use DRD or Ignite. In the later case, make a recovery tape and resinstall, chosing the Advanced Installtion mode wherein you can set your filesystem sizes.

The DRD option is described here:

http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-1913/5992-1913.pdf

Regards!

...JRF...

Create a make_tape_recovery tape or make_net_recovery image.

Reinstall the system from the image. During the install you can specify new sizes for any VG00 LV's you need to resize.

Hi,

You can find lot of threats here related to same topic. First, why do you want to extend /stand filesystem. It is a static filesystem and will not grow normally. Cleanup with deleting unwanted files.

If you still want to extend, then ignite backup and restore is the recommanded way.

needed to load some patches and /stand was out of space to accomodate. I did clean up of system.prev (moved) and make it thru, but may experience problems in the future. This is an older box where file sizes weren't that large on vg00.

If MirrorUX is installed, check my answer in this thread:
http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1271691 or http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1296967

If you don't have MirrorUX, create an Ignite backup and resize while restoring.

My 2 cents,
Armin

PS: Assign points if you find answers useful!
