      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Our customer received a new rp3440 server ; HP-UX 11i v3 (Base OE Sept 2008) was already installed.&lt;BR /&gt;In order to use GUI on console , I connected a PCI adapter card AH391A in slot 4 , installed and configured into kernel Xserver patch and gvid patch ; also i installed CDE bundle from HPUX 1ii v3 Base OE.&lt;BR /&gt;The CDE was started normally on console but when logging on using root/password ,we are getting the following error :&lt;BR /&gt;"The Desktop messaging system coult not be started "  and we should log out.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please could some one help me.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Roger&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It could be due to name resolution most often.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do you have /etc/nsswitch.conf file? if not create one by using this command.&lt;BR /&gt;# cp /etc/nsswitch.files /etc/nsswitch.conf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Modify nsswitch.conf if you have dns server like below.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hosts: files [NOTFOUND=continue] dns&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can also run the below script to find out the possible causes.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#/usr/contrib/bin/X11/dr_dt</description>
