Disk Error

Hi,

I am getting the below error on my HPUX server.
---------------------------------------
Read error -- dev: b 31 0x108200, errno: 126, resid: 24576,
blkno: 26680488, sectno: 53360976, offset: 1551015936, bcount: 24576.
-----------------------------------------

Can somebody suggest which disk has got problem?

Hi,

From where you get this error, from syslog.log ?
I think its related to any disk of your server.

Hi Ssheri,
Can u pls tell the OS version.

also u can try to find minor number 0x108200

as per ur post it is block device ,
u can grep thru /dev/dsk

Hi,

Problematic disk is c0t8d2.

You can confirm with #ll /dev/*/ |grep -i 0x108200

It is the minor number and you should find it under/dev/dsk directory. The last field will be device name.
Eg:
brw-r----- 1 bin sys 31 0x099200 Jan 23 2008 c9t9d2

Hi,

Looks like one of your hard disk is on it's way out. I would suggest to raise a call with HP and get it replaced (If you have a contract). As others suggested above, make sure which device is throwing error.
