1. Yes you do need the CD
2. Yes you do need a codeword
3. Actually for 10.20, C-ANSI-C will be your product number. It is on disk 1 of the Application Software set.

Craig

I needed to "downgrade" a system from 11.0 to 10.20 due to issues with an application. I had all the codewords working on 11.0 (C3600).
I have a fresh 10.20 load, and while it appears from software.hp.com that the compilers are for 10.20 through 11.11, I am having invalid codewords when trying to load the codeword to access the compilers (C, C++) from the 11.0 application CD, P/N B3782-10464. My gut feel is that I need to use the actual 10.20 CD's that have the compiler SW I need, but I want to verify before I track some down as the system was ordered with 11.0.
Questions...
1-Can anyone verify that the problem is that I need a different CD?
2-Will I need new codewords?
3-Does anyone know the P/N of the CD's I need?
TIA

You will need to contact HP to get new codewords for the different version of operating system.

This is easy, but be aware it can take up to 24 hours to get a response. They promise a 24 hour turn around and have never failed me yet.

For ansi C 10.20:
HP-UX 10.x
HP9000 Workstations: (B3899AA)
HP 9000 Servers: (B3901AA)

HP-UX 11.x
HP9000 Workstations: (B3899BA)
HP 9000 Servers: (B3901BA)

Hi,

As the other guys have said,
yes you will need to use the application
CD's for 10.20 on a 10.20 system.
Codewords are obtained from HP, but if
you the CD part numbers, customer
number and order number you just might be
able to generate them yourself from
www.webware.hp.com
I don't think you can as your going
backwards, but it's worth a try.
All products are contained on each set
of CD's, but you need a codeword to
unlock the software so you can see it
prior to installing it.

HTH
-Michael
