The first question is if you are running version C.02.11 (available from https://www.hp.com/go/swa). This is the only version that is expected work well with the updated ITRC infrastructure.

If you are using the latest version then be aware that SWA downloads a catalog file to provide information on the latest bulletins and patch issues. It may be that you need to specify a proxy server (-x proxy=) in order to access this.

We have a number of ways other than proxies to acquire and use the catalog, so please let me know if this is not the issue. I just confirmed that a catalog is currently available.

Thanks for your reply.

The issue got resolved. I downloaded the latest version and installed the SWassistant.
I also did swa report and swa get.

My question now is how to read the xml files. How to compare the old analyis and new analysis files.

We do not currently document the various XML file formats used by SWA (there are no section 4 manpages for SWA). The best way to compare two analysis files is to compare two issue reports.

That said, I am interested in hearing what type of comparison you would like to see. Feel free to describe it here or there is still a day left to participate in the SWA survey (http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1319494)
