Replacing san switch

We are replacing some SAN switch, what do we need to do on hpux end before and after replacing the switch.

Can some one please provide me steps necessary to accomplish that.

Hi,

For precaution take done the ioscan output
take all the WWN numbers for all the cards

If possible take vgexport for all the vg's which are coming from that san switch. for safty

Hi,

If you are using hpunix and xp storage then
take the o/p of and redirect to ur home dir. it will helpful
# xpinfo -i > /home/xxxx

Hi Waqar,
Before replacing SAN switch, take make_tape_recover backup as well as database backup. Take the latest nickel output.

After replacing SAN switch , check nickel output and ioscan output for everyhing same as before.
