topic file question in Operating System - HP-UX

file question

hello
Suddenly our backups are slow down on a hp box ..upon investigating looks like as soon as the backup of a dir (common) under /var/spool/sockets completed the backups are slow down.any idea ..what that could be helpful.Also ..any one have idea of the dir /var/spool/sockets/pwgr used for...

/var/spool/sockets/pwgr is used by the password and group caching daemon, pwgrd. See the pwgrd man page for more information.

I turn this off on all of my servers.

Once it is turned off, if you choose to do so, you could also remove the pwgr directory, and its contents, that is in /var/spool/sockets.
