What is the meaning of this entries in syslog:

Mar 25 00:36:03 server01 su: - 6 user01-root
Mar 25 00:36:08 server01 su: - 6 user01-0-
Mar 25 00:36:14 server01 su: + 6 user01-root

specially the no. (+/-)6

+ means successful, - failure
6 is the tty, it went from user01 to root and the bogus one to "0-"?

Two failures to su to root, one success. Someone has fat fingers, or maybe you have a problem.

Hi Rana,

The above messages indicates that user01 was tried to su as root on the specied three times and succeed third time.
