HP-UX LasetJet printer need help

I have a HP LasetJet 4050 printer I would like to add, I have defined its IP address and hostname on /etc/hosts

could anybody please tell me which steps or commands should I add in order to get it working?

Hi,

Simple way is goto SAM and add as network printer.

Do you by any chance have the old JetDirect software loaded on your server?
You could use that too...

[...and it actually works on 11.31 Itanium boxes too...]

swlist |grep -i jet

if you do not have HPNPL prouduct you can get it here.

it would be the one for the LaserJet 4000,5000 and 6000 family

hi,

download the relevent version of HPPI s/w and install this with swinstall

http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_query=jet+direct+printer+installer&h_tool=software&h_lang=en

then the model script as already given link to.

go into sam and add network printer and it will launch this s/w and allow you to configure it.
