      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There are two ways you can replace failed mirror disk. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;One is reduce all the mirror copies, remove the disk from the VG then replace the disk. After replace extend the disk and remirror all the lvols by lvextending.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Another way is just replace the disk without lvreduce and vgreduce. After replacing you can remirror straigtway. &lt;BR /&gt;You are in second position now. Follow these steps.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;These are the steps:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1. Replace the disk&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2. Restore the LVM headers onto the new disk /dev/dsk/c0t5d0 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vgcfgrestore -l -n /dev/vg00 (Just to verify the configuration)&lt;BR /&gt;# vgcfgrestore -n /dev/vg00 /dev/dsk/c0t5d0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3. Activate the volume group to allow the kernel to recognize the new disk as being part    &lt;BR /&gt;    of this volume group:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vgchange -a y vg00&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;4. Synchronize the volume group &lt;BR /&gt; # vgsync vg00&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;5. Reinstate the boot and LIF data:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# mkboot -l /dev/dsk/c0t5d0&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;6. Update the AUTO file with quorum override option&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# mkboot -a "hpux -lq" /dev/rdsk/c0t5d0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;7. Update BDRA and LABEL file &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -vR /dev/vg00 &lt;BR /&gt;    (or)&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -r /dev/vg00/lvol3 &lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -b /dev/vg00/lvol1&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -s /dev/vg00/lvol2 &lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -d /dev/vg00/lvol2 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# lvlnboot -v&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
