Hi,

ignite - tape/net is using for backuping of system hp-ux mostly of vg00, you are able to clon and restore the system.

man make_tape_recovery or make_net_recovery

mirror/ux - is for mirroring to prevent the system failtures if som HW problem happen on the disk subsystem ( disk failture ) for redudancy

drd - is used for cloning of system, patch testing, if you don't want affect product system, such a backup of vg00, on disk.

Hi,

Ignite:-

Ignite backup is a bootable OS full backup in Tape media(vg00 full backup),this backup will used,in case of OS crash,we no need to reinstall OS from media.We can restore OS from ignite backup.(save time & save money)

Mirror:-
This OS copies in two disks,if any disk will fail,another disk will work out.after replaced the failed disk,we can remirror again(On-line,So no need to reinstall(save time)

Shalom,

Ignite is a software package designed to back up the OS boot volume and configuration.

Dynamic root disk is just another way to keep the system running through loss of a disk.

In short
IGNITE :- Is full OS backup on tape or Ignite server
DYNROOTDISK :- DRD is disk cloning you can clone your disk
MIRORRING :- same as cloning but using different technology

Hai Beraq,

Both ignite and mirrorng are different concepts,

Ignite:

It is one of the hp released s/w which is used to save time of hp ux installation and also for some additional purpose.
It will create an operating sysem image .
That's why if any os related problems lke os crash will occured we can easily recover the system by restoring the os through ignite back up.
It will take maximum of 30 -35 min for comleate restoration.

Mirror ux:

This is just used for reduntancy purpose, means by using this we will create mirror copies means same os is loaded in multiple disks. That's why if any disk cause prblem then the reduntant disk will take action.

Cloning is same like mirroring Having technology difference.
