if you are expecting someone to tell you which ones actually need updating, I am sure it is not going to happen.

The best thing you can do is to obtain the latest patch bundle from HP, fire up swinstall in an interactive session, select this patch depot first then go to Actions menu and choose select the option "Match what the target has". swinstall will pick and choose which patches are relevant from the new patch bundle for you and install those.

Hi (again):

# swlist|grep -i swassistant

...will show you if it is installed.

The documentation surrounding SWA, including its manpages is quite good. Once installed, see my my comments the thread below for one way to use it:

Hai khilari,

You will update the patches if any reqirement will come . for example if sendmail is not working you should update the sendmaild patches . you can get these patches through the hp site. After getting the patches you can install it through #swinstall -s depotname command. If it is in the .rar format you shouls unshar it before installation.

After installation you can verify the patches by #swverify or #swlist -l patches command

Hi khilari,

To install new patch then you need to call your hp dealer because they relies new patches and bundles so ask your hp dealer to give latest patch DVD.
