    <description>Hi Tirtha,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Always allow the system to restart after booting into maintanance mode. If system is booted directly from maintanance mode to normal mode /dev/root will be mounted as / like in your output.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This should be fixed by running these sequence of commands.&lt;BR /&gt;# vgchange -a y /dev/vg00&lt;BR /&gt;# mv /etc/mnttab /etc/mnttab.old&lt;BR /&gt;# mount -a&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If the above doesn't work, you may have to reboot the server.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

Or still you are facing the same issue?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can check if the entries are normal in fstab specially for root.       <description>when you issue this command ;&lt;BR /&gt;# ll /dev/root&lt;BR /&gt;brw-r-----   1 bin        sys        255 0xffffff May  7 16:07 /dev/root&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;can you see this ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and when you edit /etc/fstab and /etc/mnttab ,they are similar or not ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the "/dev/root" address is inside the fstab or mnttab ??&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
