Hangs at Booting kernel...

Hello,

I just restored an 11.23 Ignite and it hangs on the following stage:

loading System Directory (boot.sys) to MFS
....
loading MFSFILES directory (bootfs) to MFS
.x..................
Launching /stand/vmunix
SIZE: Text:29499K + Data:7288K + BSS:5260K = Total:42048K
Console is on Serial COM1
Booting kernel...

And there it hangs forever.

is it possible to rebuild a standard kernel and make it boot from there?

I would like to get this Ignite restore going, installing a fresh OS is not an option we must restore this.

Suggestions, Ideas of what could be done?

I've never seen MFSFILES to MFS messages.

Do you have an unusual file system installed on this system.

if this is a fresh ignite restore, i would ask you if u can from the same source repeat the install.

Check your firmware levels on your source (you mention restore Ignite, but you don't say tape or IUX) and target..What versions do you have?

What version of Ignite? Since there were a couple issues with certain version of ignite having trouble and hanging on installs..
