      <description>hi &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;this tells that there had been I/O Error for the tape Drive.&lt;BR /&gt;can you check if had been in middle of a backup wrting to the tape, try taking the same backup on a new cartridge.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards&lt;BR /&gt;sujit</description>

      <description>Try using the drive again, with a new tape, and see if you get an error.  If you do, log a hardware call with HP and get the drive replaced.  If not, keep using it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Pete</description>

      <description>Razi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As this is a tape drive problem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check the cable connections on either side&lt;BR /&gt;any lights on the tape drive, any blinking, yellow/orange lights&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check the status of the tape&lt;BR /&gt;mt /dev/rmt/0mn  status&lt;BR /&gt;mt /dev/rmt/0mn  rewoffl&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;put an EMPTY tape and tar some files to tape&lt;BR /&gt;are you able to tar cvf  /dev/rmt/0mn /tmp/*.txt&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;try listing&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;tar tvf /dev/rmt/0mn &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
