    <description>i work on hpux v3, i try to view the contenent of my tape after i have backing up my data with &lt;BR /&gt;fbackup -v -f /dev/rmt/0mb -i /backapp/..&lt;BR /&gt;this instruction&lt;BR /&gt;frecover -f /dev/rmt/0mb -x -N -v&lt;BR /&gt;gives me this result &lt;BR /&gt;erp1 /entpscript#frecover -f /dev/rmt/0mb -x -N -v&lt;BR /&gt;frecover(5409): unable to read volume header&lt;BR /&gt;frecover(5418): not an fbackup volume; unable to read volume header&lt;BR /&gt;frecover(2105): did not find expected file marker&lt;BR /&gt;frecover(5412): Do you wish to try to salvage this volume? (^[yY]/^[nN]&lt;BR /&gt;frecover(5413): attempting to read backup following bad volume header&lt;BR /&gt;frecover(5426): read error while attempting to read index.  Skipping.&lt;BR /&gt;what's the problem?</description>

      <description>Hello Ouazir. HAve you tried a read/write using L&amp;amp;TT . Probably the tape was not formatted before the test backup. Could be an issue with the tar file that you have created.</description>

      <description>what do you mean by read/write using L&amp;amp;TT &lt;BR /&gt;i think that this a library tape tools that i already used it for checking device status for example?&lt;BR /&gt;mt -f /dev/rmt/0mb status &lt;BR /&gt;file:0&lt;BR /&gt;block:0 &lt;BR /&gt;that is mean that no data to be restored.&lt;BR /&gt;i want to indicate that i tryed to backup a compressed file such as &lt;BR /&gt;file.tar.gz with &lt;BR /&gt;fbackup -f /dev/rmt/0mb -i /backapp/backapp.tar.gz &lt;BR /&gt;is it correct?</description>
