sftp not connecting.

actually while i am trying to connect from serverA to serverB i get this output. ?

Instaead of sftp, if you ssh to this server, can you get connected without any problems ?

I think to run sftp for network ports you need 21 AND 115 open. Check to see if they are.
Along with Mel's comments, if you can't run ssh, see you can run scp and copy the files over that way (which I'd prefer over sftp).

ya i can connect to that server by ssh logins but not by scp or sftp .

check the /etc/ssh/sshd_config

i you have this line :

Subsystem sftp /usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server

PS : did you try to connect to the ssh, with a sftp from loalhost ???

sorry on HP-UX its in this location :

/etc/opt/ssh

but the option should be defult enabled.

hi Mikap,

i tried to connect now, but i am getting the error as

sftp nishara@192.168.10.25
Connecting to 192.168.10.25...
ssh: connect to host 192.168.10.25 port 22: Connection refused
Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer

but from this sftp serever tat is 192.168.0.25 i am able to connect to all other servers but i cant sftp to this server from other servers..

permissions are already correct:

When performing your test ssh connection to localhost, it would also be helpful to enable debugging for the server-side in addition to the client-side (/usr/sbin/sshd -ddd) - you may also want to turn up the debug level on the client-side too, to get more detail whilst troubleshooting (ssh -vvv localhost)
