SAM does not open

Hi Guys,

I have HP-UX 10.20.When i issue the SAM command, it just dont open anything and kind of hang there. then i have to press ctrl+C to break it and get the prompt back. i have checked /usr/sbin/sam file exist.

Plz suggest.

I am assuming you are running a terminal and not Xwindows. Unset the DISPLAY variable and try again:

unset DISPLAY
sam

Hello,

also check if already sam process are running

ps -ef |grep sam

kill those first,
then try again

Back to the DISPLAY var, check it! Maybe it opens somewhere else?

# echo $DISPLAY

Check
#ps -ef | grep sam

first kill the PID

then try again

There are periodic fixes for sam in the http://itrc.hp.com patch database that may need to be applied for HP-UX 10.20

SEP
