Hi,

I am facing very poor performance while accessing NAS mount point in Hp 11.23 OS.

Any clue for the NAS access issue. Network side they have confirmed everyhting is fine..

And I am assuming you want people here to read your mind as well.

NAS is a very broad concept. What type of NAS is this ? How is it connected to your network ? How many firewalls or routers are between you and the NAS ? What is considered as a very poor performance vs what do you expect instead of that ? And I love the default network response: "everything is fine on the network side"; what did they do to tell you that it is fine ? What did they check, trace and look at ? You can as well go back and say, everything on HPUX looks fine. And these questions need to be answered just to start.

You need to provide much more detailed problem definitions. Otherwise you will not get any help.

Hi Rav,

Poor performance can have multiple causes
Please provide more information about:

0) what is the poor speed you get and what do you expect?
1) what kind of NAS is it Netapp or similar or just a "network-disk"?
2) what speed is your lan?
3) are server and NAS in the same subnet/segment, is there a firewall?
4) are you using NFS or smb (samba) ?
5) what version e.g. nfsv3 over tcp or udp?
6) what mount options do you use?
7) do you access NAS over exclusive interface or shared with other traffic?
