    <description>If I need to extend fs /opt, should I put the system in service mode?&lt;BR /&gt;I extened its LV, but I cannot umount /opt when the system is up to run extendfs command. Anyone has how to steps? Thank!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jessica</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Boot in Single user mode and extend the file system. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you have Online JFS installed ,without unmounting you can extend it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;LIJEESH N G</description>

      <description>Hi Jes,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do you have online JFS installed :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# swlist | grep -i jfs       &lt;BR /&gt;  B3929EA                       B.11.31        HP OnLineJFS (Server) &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you have then you can run the following command :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/fsadm -F vxfs -b XXXXM /opt&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;where XXXX equates to the total new size of /opt.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you do not have Online JFS then you will need to boot the server into single user mode and then :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;mount /usr&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;extendfs -F vxfs /dev/vg00/rlvol4&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;bdf /opt&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mark&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi Jes,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Yes - /usr will need to be extended in single user mode also, but do NOT mount /usr first as mentioned for /opt above.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You will need to use /sbin/extendfs as opposed to /usr/sbin/extendfs.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mark</description>
