HPvm4.0 trail version

Hi We noticed we installed HPVM 4.0 Trial verion on some systems, results HP Virtual Machines software on this system which has expired, we got HP-UX 11i v3 Virtual Server OE (VSE-OE), how can we activate HPVM ? second question if we need to reinstall some things ,can we upgrade HPVM4.0 towards HP4.1 ?? and how ??

Shalom,

You have to obtain the full version and install HPVM Version 4.0. You should be able to preserve your virtual machines and configuration, but its necessary to install new software.

After the install you can upgrade to 4.1

As far as obtaining the license, you need to contact your local HP representative to get that done.

You cannot upgrade the Trial version. It must first be removed, and then you install the full licensed version, which you should have if you bought the VSE-OE.
Backup /var/opt/hpvm and all your configurations should be there.

If you have, or can request, the 11.31 IA VSOE DVD's (March 2009) it comes with the HPVM 4.1 software.
