reset maxage

is there a way to reset the maxage on a non-trusted system? That way if i reset the maxage i need not change the root passwd for "maxage" weeks. on trusted i can do this with modprpw -k and then -v.

Have a look at the options available to a privileged user with the 'passwd' command -- '-n min', '-w warn' and '-x max':

i am looking to keep the same passwd and just reset the counter (output of logins -x user) to current date so that i can do wihtout setting another password for the maxage days
