      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;Trying to run useradd but the -d parameter is so long (78 characters) that it errors out, saying:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;...... is not a valid directory&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;could it be something other than the length of the home directory?</description>

      <description>Try it with a dummy directory - something like /tmp/userdir.  Then you'll know.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Pete</description>
