Hi ,

i understand securepath is used for active/passive connections and autopath is for active/active and both are seperately have to be installed. But please some one let me know the exact version of hp ux version these products bundled in os itself and what are autopath and securepath commands and how do we find out a system has secure path or autopath or pvlinks - appreciate it.

Actually the "product name" is Secure Path, regardless of whether it is for a/a or a/p arrays - when you install Secure Path for a/a arrays, the command you get to manage the systems is called "autopath", and the product was called AutoPath many many years ago.

Secure Path is _not_ bundled with _any_ release of HP-UX and never has been - it is an entirely seperately licensed product. Your confusion might be because with HP-UX 11iv3 we have a new native MPIO stack which does away with the requirement for SecurePath for a/a disk arrays. HP-UX 11iv3 does not support a/p disk arrays at all.

As for seeing whether the products are installed, they show up in an swlist output... you will see:

CPQswsp - for Secure Path for A/P disk arrays
HPswsp - for Secure Path for A/A disk arrays

HTH

Duncan
