mdb core analysis

Hi,

I am looking for a good mdb manual to debug core files, it should be for mdb, and dbx, something understandable, because the online documentation is normally not good, or really limited.

Maybe some of you know about a very good resource, book, pdf, etc to know and understand how to debug a core file (online/offline) and get with the cause of the bug,etc.

Any help will be really appreciated.

wdb/gdb has a bunch of documentation about debugging core files:

Off the documentation page is: Debugging core files using HP WDB

Basically with all debugging, you need to know the application and how to get from the state the debugger can display, to where your bugs are.

The difference between interactive debugging and core files is the latter can't "move" or restart. You can only display state.
