Hi all, we have installed vpar software and use it to virtualize our rx8640 machine. Can anyone help me identify if it is really indeed a demo version? And if its a temporary, what is the command to know if its demo / temporary? is it the same as icapstatus?

# swlist | grep Virtual
T1335BC A.04.05.07 HP-UX Virtual Partitions for 11.23

# icapstatus
Software version: B.11.23.08.03
System ID: AURA02
Serial number: SGH480253V
Product number: AB446A
Unique ID: 1288f160-dae4-11dc-a686-cf307520a9c6
System contact e-mail: Not set
From e-mail: Set to the default ('adm')
Asset reporting: off
Temporary capacity warning period: 15 days
Exception status: No exception

Thanks in advance!

To the best of my knowledge there is no demo version of the vPars software, so I think this is the full version. Of course just cos you technically have it doesn't mean you are legally allowed to use it... you'll need to purchase the appropriate licenses from HP, but it looks like you already have everything installed that you need. Only point I'd make is that vPars 04.06 is out now, so if you are not yet "live" you might want to uopgrade to the latest version first...

icapstatus is nothing to do with vPars...

HTH

Duncan
