topic changing root password in Operating System - HP-UX

changing root password

i need to change the root pwd for 30 servers all servers are in production. Is it possiable to change it in a script.

i used to do in the following ways by editing here..

/tcb/file/auth/root ..

is there an other way ,,

ver 11i v3 ,, all are trusted system

We have roughly 20 servers that we do it here on. We are running trusted with a mix of 11.0 and 11.11. We have ssh authentication keys set up for a non root user that is allowed sudo access on all systems to make that modification.

This may not work on v3 not sure.

Do you have keyed ssh access? I would try it with usermod. If no, you could try expect for automating interactive processes...
