>> You can with vpar software virtualize 64 bit Linux or 64 Bit Windows.

This is wrong.

It's not vPars, its HPVM (Integrity virtual machines).

Or does it only run 64 bit applications?

In particular on a rx6600 running Integrity VM3.5 on a VM Guest running HP-UX 11.23

Thanks
Bill

Shalom,

32 bit mode?

Not really.

The HP-UX OS has 32 bit application support.

What can you run on an Itanium Server?

64 bit HP-UX 11.23
64 bit HP-UX 11.31

You can with vpar software virtualize 64 bit Linux or 64 Bit Windows.

You can not to my knowledge install a 32 bit Linux or 32 Bit Windows distribution.

SEP

>does the Itanium chip have a 32 bit mode?

No, it always runs in 64 bit mode. Initial versions had x86 code emulation.

>Or does it only run 64 bit applications?

Through software, Aries, it runs both 32 and 64 bit PA-RISC applications.

Through compiler and kernel magic, it runs 32 bit IPF applications.
